Mike Shepard is Vice President of Client Strategies for Pinnacle Media Worldwide, providing quality perceptual research and strategic guidance to dozens of successful radio stations in the United States and Europe.
Previously, Mike formed and was CEO of Shepard Media Research, Inc., and spent five years serving as Senior Vice President of Moyes Research & Strategy.
Mike also has over 25 years experience in all facets of radio, most notably a 15-year tenure with Jefferson-Pilot Communications in San Diego. He started as program director for KSON and ultimately rose to the position of Assistant Vice President / Programming & Operations, overseeing the entire market cluster.
As program director for KSON, Mike achieved the best ratings success of any station in San Diego for the entire decade of the 90s – amassing over 20 # 1 rating books. He allso guided Oldies KBZT and NAC KIFM to their highest ratings ever.
Mike was a pioneer in music testing, and one of the first country programmers to use callout. He was also founder and President of Directions In Radio, a market research firm that handled perceptual and music testing for over 40 stations in the 1990s.
