Nik Goodman
Nik Goodman started his career in media working alongside the record producer Pete Waterman at Radio City in Liverpool in the late 1980’s.
After graduating from Bournemouth University with an honours degree in Radio Production he returned to Radio City as a features producer, and later was offered an on-air role.
He joined Capital Radio owned ‘Power FM’, to present a daily music show and he was also appointed Head of Music in 1996.
After 3 successful years at Power FM, national radio beckoned, and Nik was approached to fill the influential role of Head of Music for national rock station Virgin Radio, where he worked alongside the likes of Chris Evans. During this time, he was promoted to become Deputy Programme Director in 2000 and helped steer the station to record audience figures.
There followed a spell at London’s Kiss 100 where Nik produced the Sony
Award winning Bam Bam Breakfast, and then as Programme Director relaunching
Radio Forth in Edinburgh (winning another Sony Gold Award), before he returned to London in 2004 as Deputy Programme Director for the Capital FM Regional Network, overseeing the programming strategy Capital’s CHR ‘heritage’ stations outside London.
After the creation of GCap Media, Nik was invited to become Programme Director of the world famous Capital Radio, London… and was responsible for developing on-air talent like Johnny Vaughan and Richard Bacon, as well as steering the stations’ music and programming strategy.
Nik left Capital Radio in 2006 and founded a media consultancy focusing on music, programming and content development for radio, as well as strategic development for new media businesses.
‘Nik Goodman Media Consulting’ now works with clients in both established
and developing markets across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
