The new Director of Radio Nacional de España, Santiago Gonzalez is a native of La Orotava (Tenerife). He has a licentiate degree in Information Science from the Complutense University of Madrid and his entire professional career has taken place in the audiovisual media. Over the last few years Mr. Gonzalez has been linked to the Public Entity of Canary Island Radio and Television, where he has been part of the General Management since June 2005. Prior to this he participated in the creation of this autonomous network — with different positions of responsibility — in 1999. At 35 years old he became the youngest General Director of an autonomous TV station when he took on the presidency of the FORTA (Federación de Organismos de Radio y Televisión Autonómicos) in June 2005.
